What stays on your Mac
MediaFold stores the following on this Mac only, inside its App Sandbox container:
- Security-scoped bookmarks for folders you choose, so the sandbox can reopen them later
- A local library database (paths relative to those folders, duration and codec probe results, play history)
- Thumbnails generated on this Mac
- App preferences such as volume and window state via standard User Defaults
Bookmarks, the library database, and thumbnails never leave the device. The developer cannot see them.
Files and permissions
MediaFold reads media you select and folders you authorize. It does not move, modify, or delete original media files. Screenshots you save go where you pick in a save panel.
On-device file timestamp APIs may be used to skip unchanged files during a library scan (App Privacy reason C617.1). User Defaults may store preferences (reason CA92.1). That access stays on your Mac and is not used for tracking.
App Store distribution
The Mac App Store copy of MediaFold is distributed by Apple. Optional in-app purchases (a US$0 trial token and a US$11.99 lifetime unlock) are processed by Apple StoreKit. MediaFold does not create an account, does not receive payment-card information, and does not operate a purchase server. The trial is not a subscription and does not automatically charge later.
Tracking and advertising
MediaFold does not track you. It does not show ads. It does not use a tracking identifier. Collected data types in the app’s privacy manifest are empty.
Your choices
You can remove authorized folders in the app. Uninstalling MediaFold removes the sandbox container, including the local library, bookmarks, and thumbnails. Original media files on disk are not deleted.
Support communications and this website
If a user emails support@jiangfinance.com, Jiang Finance and its email provider receive the sender address, subject, message and any attachment the user chooses to include, solely to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse and comply with law. Do not email credentials, verification codes, payment details or private keys.
This page is hosted through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process ordinary connection data such as IP address, request time, browser type and requested URL for delivery, security and abuse prevention under the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. This MediaFold page does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Children
MediaFold is a general video player with no social features, chat, or accounts. We do not collect data off-device.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. Material changes to data practices will be reflected here and in App Store privacy disclosures before a changed version is released.
